CAN I PURCHASE SPARE PARTS FOR MY PRODUCT ?

We stock a large selection of spare parts for most products. To see if spare parts are available for your product, visit the product page for further information. If you cannot find the part you are looking for, please contact our customer service team for assistance on 1800 683 363.

HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY THERMOS PRODUCT?

We recommend washing by hand. Use warm water and dishwashing liquid to clean the product. Residual contents may become trapped between parts, under gaskets, O-rings or in straws. Remove all parts and wash with dishwashing liquid and warm water to ensure all parts are thoroughly cleaned. Never use bleach, or any cleaner that contains bleach, on your Thermos product. Each product on our website links to their own Care and Use manual with cleaning instructions.

HOW DO I REMOVE DISCOLORATION ON THE INSIDE OF MY THERMOS PRODUCT?

If you see discolouration, it’s almost always a coffee/tea build-up in your container. Coffee pot cleaner or denture tablets usually work the best for getting rid of stubborn stains and odours. Put two denture tablets in your product with hot water and let it soak overnight then wash with soap and water and rinse well, and if applicable, allow to dry, prior to use. Lemon juice can also be used for removing odours.

WHAT GRADE OF STAINLESS STEEL IS USED IN THERMOS PRODUCTS?

We only use 18/8 food grade stainless steel in all our products.

WHAT MATERIAL ARE THERMOS HYDRATION BOTTLES MADE FROM?

We use BPA-free Eastman Tritan™ for the bottle, polypropylene for the lids, a silicone O-ring to prevent any leaks and an LDPE (low-density polyethylene) straw.

ARE THERMOS PRODUCTS BPA-FREE?

All Thermos products are BPA-free.

ARE THERMOS PRODUCTS LEAD-FREE?

Thermos products are tested rigorously by independent testing labs. As a result of this testing, we can assure you that Thermos products do not pose a risk of lead exposure to consumers.

IS THERE A COATING ON THE INTERIOR OF STAINLESS STEEL PRODUCTS?

No, Thermos brand stainless steel products have no interior coating.

WHAT ARE FUNTAINER® BOTTLES’ LID AND STRAW MADE OF

The FUNtainer® bottle lid is made of polypropylene. The straw spout is made of silicone and the stem is made of LDPE (low-density polyethylene). None of these materials contain BPA.

HOW DO THE FOOGO STAINLESS STEEL PRODUCTS INHIBIT BACTERIA GROWTH?

Our Foogo® stainless steel products inhibit bacteria growth based on the ability of the product to keep contents cold. Testing results show that liquids placed inside of these products inhibit bacteria growth while the liquid stays cold.

HOW DO I GET THE BEST TEMPERATURE RETENTION FROM MY VACUUM INSULATED PRODUCT?

For maximum performance and heat retention, preheat the inside of your Thermos product with hot water according to the care and use instructions for best results. If you’re preparing a Thermos food jar to fill with soup, pasta or any other hot foods, they should be heated on a stove to a boiling point or microwaved piping hot prior to filling the food jar. Please use caution when handling hot contents. Remember, you’re not heating up the food to eat now; you’re heating it so that it can be safely eaten hours later. The same process can be used to for chilled food.

HOW DOES THE INSULATION WORK

Visit the Technology page for more information on this.

CAN I STORE MILK IN MY FUNTAINER® BOTTLE?

Our FUNtainer® bottles keep beverages cold for up to 12 hours. That being said, storing milk requires special attention so we don’t recommend keeping dairy inside the bottles for long periods due to the risk of spoilage.

IS MY PRODUCT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE?

Yes, please visit our Warranty page.

MY BOTTLE IS LEAKING. WHY?

If all parts are intact, your product should not leak.

If a part of the lid is missing, the O-ring for instance, then your bottle may leak. In such circumstances, you will need to contact customer service and enquire as to the availability of a spare part. Leaking can also occur if parts are not properly positioned. Alternatively, if stoppers are not screwing on properly, this may also cause leaking. Stoppers should screw on easily and sit evenly on top of the product.

It’s also recommended to keep products upright when transporting, just in case of leakage.

If you have tried the above troubleshooting and your product is still leaking, plese contact customer service and we will try and assist you further.

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP MY FOOD IN A FOOD JAR?

In general, contents should not be left in the container for longer than 24 hours. However, the rate at which contents spoil depends on several factors.

Certain contents that include, for example, dairy, homemade soup, and/or tomato may start to spoil much sooner. Also, spoilage may occur faster when contents have been partially consumed, or may occur sooner with the opening and reclosing of a product holding contents.

Proceed with caution when using the product with quick spoiling or partially consumed contents, as pressure may build up in the container and possibly cause a forceful ejection of the stopper or contents. If contents have been left in the container for a prolonged period, or you suspect spoilage, use caution when opening the container, and in such circumstances, before attempting to open container, ENSURE THE OPENING IS POINTED AWAY FROM THE USER, OR OTHER PERSONS TO AVOID INJURY.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY PRODUCT DOES NOT KEEP HOT OR COLD

If you feel your product is not keeping contents hot or cold for an extended period, you can easily test the insulation to check if it is working as it should.

Fill your product with boiling water and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. After this time has elapsed, feel the outside of the product. If it feels warm, then the insulation may no longer be working effectively. Note to use caution when touching the product as it may be very hot. Please contact our customer service team for further assistance.

ARE THERMOS PRODUCTS ETHICALLY SOURCED?

All Thermos factories are regularly audited by third party auditors in accordance with BSCI, SEDEX/SMETA standards.

Lifefactory®

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF GLASS

Glass has been trusted for centuries, plus it’s one of the greenest materials on the planet. It is 100% recycleable and safe. You don’t need to be concerned about harmful chemicals, and water generally tastes best coming out of a glass bottle.

WHAT DOES THE SILICONE SLEEVE DO?

The silicone sleeves are great for two reasons. Firstly, they are designed to look stylish, but also, they help protect the bottle from the occasional bump or drop. The material makes the bottle easier to grip, thus reducing the potential for breakages.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY LIFEFACTORY® BOTTLE

All components of Lifefactory products can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. The silicone sleeve does not have to be removed from the bottle to clean. It is recommended to place caps on the top rack of the dishwasher.

To sanitize baby products – the Borosilicate glass baby bottle, caps and silicone parts can be boiled in water. See the Care & Use instructions for details.

DO NOT BOIL the glass hydration bottle. All components of Lifefactory products can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. The silicone sleeve does not have to be removed from the bottle to clean. It is recommended to place caps on the top rack of the dishwasher.

DO NOT BOIL the glass hydration bottle.

CAN I PUT HOT LIQUIDS IN MY LIFEFACTORY® BOTTLE

Lifefactory bottles are made from soda lime glass. This means they are strong, but not impervious to rapid temperature change. Like any bottle, they will expand and crack if left in the freezer or hit with boiling water.

Lifefactory baby bottles however, are made of borosilicate glass, which is stronger than soda lime glass, and known for its superior durability and heat resistance capabilites.

WHAT ABOUT THE BABY BOTTLE? CAN I BOIL AND FREEZE THE BABY BOTTLE?

Yes. Lifefactory glass baby bottles are made from borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is known for its superior durability, chemical and heat resistance, and is excellent for use in chemical laboratory equipment and cookware. This allows the baby bottle to go from the freezer to boiling water pot.

When freezing, store the bottle in an upright position. DO NOT FILL TO TOP. Leave a minimum of 2oz/58 ml of open space from neck of bottle to allow for expansion and prevent glass breaking while frozen. See Care & Use instructions for details.

ARE BOTTLES MICROWAVE SAFE?

Lifefactory hydration bottles are not microwave safe.

The glass baby bottles are microwave safe, but nipples should be removed beforehand.

WHY IS GLASS A BETTER CHOICE THAN PLASTIC FOR BABY BOTTLES?

Glass is a better choice for baby bottles because it does not leach chemicals into the contents of the bottle. Glass bottles are also recyclable and reusable.

Lifefactory offers a solution by combining a sturdy glass bottle with a custom-designed silicone sleeve to help protect the glass from breaking.

BOROSILICATE GLASS BOTTLES ARE “THERMAL SHOCK RESISTANT”. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Our baby bottles are made with high quality thermal shock-resistant borosilicate glass which allows safe transition from freezer to boiling water. Our baby bottles can be used to freeze liquids – see Care & Use Guide for proper storage instructions. Soda lime bottles do not have this quality. For mothers who pump and store breast milk, our bottles can go from freezer to refrigerator to hot water for feeding all in one step.

WHAT SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS DO LIFEFACTORY BABY BOTTLES HAVE?

All products are subjected to rigorous testing by independent testing laboratories to produce products that meet our safety standards.
